Worship

Polwarth has two services of worship each week: Sunday at 11am and Wednesday at 1.30pm.

Sunday 11am:

Our main Sunday Service takes place at 11am, and lasts an hour. A simple time of communion takes place in the Murray Aisle at the close of the service. Polwarth enjoys a unique style of worship which combines a high liturgy, with responses and versicles, with periods of silence and a liberal theology. Children are welcome in the service and there is a play area for the very young at the rear of the sanctuary. Older children (2+) participate in their own classes for the first part of the service and then join with the rest of the church family to show and tell of what they have been learning. We have a growing Sunday School with some 18 children on our roll (approximately 10 attend each Sunday) and their ages range from 2-10.

We have a small but enthusiastic choir.

We always have lay participation in the service - ranging from people reading the lesson, the leading prayers, to preaching. A small team of members have undergone training in conducting worship.

We have recently installed a permenant labyrinth in our beautiful sanctuary.

Wednesday 1.30pm

Our Wednesday mid-week Service takes place at 1.30pm and lasts 15 minutes. This is a time to pause in the middle of the week and spend time in prayer and reflection.
