The Wednesday Break:
A short act of worship
followed by a long cup of tea!
11.15 till 12.30
It is hoped this will be a place for people who live alone, or are retired, or unemployed, or work from home, who are available at this time. We will come together first to reflect upon the Christian faith in worship and then to enjoy each other’s company around a cup of tea.

The dates of the meetings have been chosen to allow a connection to be made between the day and the story from the life of Jesus, to add an additional point of interest.
Worship will begin at 11.15am and last no more than 30 minutes, and the intention is everyone will be free to leave no later than 12.30pm.
8 February: Love and Marriage – The wedding in Cana
February hosts National Marriage Week and in it falls St Valentine’s Day. So we look at a story of a wedding and ask why did Jesus never marry?
22 February: Ash Wednesday – Temptations of Jesus
Today marks the beginning of Lent and so we look at the Temptations of Jesus associated with that period as well as looking at the devotional practices of other denominations.
14 March: Special People – Jesus meets his mother
In the week ahead it is both St Patrick’s Day and Mothers’ Day, so we look at a moment when Jesus is with his mother and think about the stories of saints.
28 March: Jerusalem – Jesus in the city
Preparing for Holy Week gives an opportunity to see the city through the eyes of Jesus.
4 April: Holy Week – The death of Jesus.
The artist James Tissot painted a number of striking images to convey the events of Holy Week and today there will be an opportunity to meditate on some of them.
