They will take place weekly, in a Hall and will be offered as both an evening (7.30pm) and afternoon (2pm) session.
These talks are intended for anyone who wishes to know more about what the Gospel of Mark actually says about the Holy Week events. Without knowing what Mark expected his original readers to understand, it is very easy from a perspective 2000 years distant and in a very different cultural setting to think we know what the story is saying. But do we?
Jack, we well know, has an ability to make the Bible assessable and fresh and so no prior knowledge of the gospel is required. Also, while questions and comments are welcome, this is not primarily a discussion group: those who attend will not be put on the spot and asked, ‘what do you think?’.
The talks will last around an hour. All are most welcome – so if you have a friend, colleague or neighbour you might wish to invite, please do...
