Polwarth Parish Church

If you are reading this, but are not a member of Polwarth, you may be interested to know that there are three different ways of strengthening your links with Polwarth
[1] Membership:
If you have ‘lines’ from your old church, simply hand them in to the minister or session clerk. If they are more than 12 months old, the renewal of membership will be done by a formal ‘resolution of the Kirk Session’.
If you have previously been a member of the church but have lost your ‘lines’ speak to the minister or session clerk and your request will also be dealt with by a technical ‘resolution of the Kirk Session’.
If you have never been a member of a church then, following a series of discussion sessions on the Christian Faith called ‘Brass Tacks’, you can make a public profession of faith during Sunday worship. A new ‘Brass Tacks’ course will be run this autumn, more details elsewhere in the magazine.
[2] Adherent:
If you do not wish to subscribe to the church’s statements of faith, but do wish to be formally associated with Polwarth, you can become an adherent – speak to the minister or session clerk for more details.
[3] Friend of:
Here in Polwarth we have a number of folk who are neither members nor adherents but are regular attenders. They are informally recognised to be associated with the church and so receive the monthly magazine and have an elder who keeps in regular contact. If this form of link to Polwarth is for you, please speak to the minister or session clerk.
Have a think about it. Do you want to make your links to Polwarth more formal? We would love to hear from you.
